Linux Mint and Mozilla enter into partnership

On Monday, the founder of the Linux distribution Linux Mint announced a new partnership with Mozilla. This agreement is technical as well as financial. So there will be a version of Mozilla’s browser Firefox optimized for Linux Mint. The changes and thus the unpatched Firefox browser with version 96 should be available for Linux Mint 19.x, 20.x and LMDE with the updates after January 11, 2022.

Google becomes the standard search engine

Until now, Yahoo and DuckDuckGo were the default search engines in Linux Mint. From now on, this will be the partners of Mozilla to the include, for example, Google, Amazon, Bing, DuckDuckGo and Ebay. So Linux Mint will get part of the advertising revenue from the Google search engine.
